The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that manages the Medicare program, has created Hospice Compare to allow patients and families to evaluate hospice organizations based on important indicators of quality of care including patient treatment preferences and managing pain and treating symptoms.
We are gratified that, as reported at August 29, 2017, Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County was rated at or significantly above the national average on every measure of quality of care surveyed.
Special Events and Community Programs
We are committed to providing bereavement support to grieving individuals and families during the first year following the death of a loved one. Our professional bereavement counselors are trained to provide comfort and promote healing after a loss.
Our bereavement support groups are open to anyone in the community who has experienced a loss. Participation offers the opportunity to grieve in a supportive and therapeutic environment with others who have also suffered a loss.
About one in every ten Americans has high blood pressure. High blood pressure is a uniquely silent disease — most people do not know they have it. Uncontrolled, high blood pressure can lead to a heart attack or stroke. Fortunately, high blood pressure is highly treatable and can be controlled with diet, exercise and medication.
We offer free blood pressure screenings throughout the year at various times and locations. A registered nurse will check your blood pressure, dispense important information and answer questions about how to keep your blood pressure in check through healthy eating, exercise and stress reduction.
